An undergraduate degree is the first level of university qualification. Most students begin their undergraduate degree after high school. The most common type of undergraduate degree is a Bachelor’s degree, which takes four academic years of successful study to complete

A Master’s degree is a graduate (also called ‘Graduate’) program. It is an advanced degree, which you can only study once you have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degrees typically take one to two years to complete.

A dual degree (also called ‘double degree’, ‘joint degree’ or ‘blended degree’) lets you earn two degrees at the same time. They can either be from the same university, or from different universities. A dual degree takes less time to complete than it would take to study the degrees separately. Dual degrees often combine an undergraduate program with a graduate program.

Our universities and college partners has more than 150 different degree options and more than 100 minors. Majors covers areas of study like arts, humanities, and social sciences; business and economics; computing; engineering; forestry and environmental sciences; health professions; mathematics; natural and physical sciences.

Our University partners are public university, so the tuition fee rate are affordable. Room and board vary slightly depending on the residence hall you are placed in as well as which meal plan you choose.

All first-year students and transfer students must live on campus during their first year. Students receiving aScholarship Award are required to live on campus for at least one years,  because once you get here, we think you’ll love it. In fact, many students choose to live on campus for more than one year.

Merit- and need-based scholarships are available for incoming first-year and transfer students. Test scores are not needed to apply for competitive scholarships. Applicants must submit official SAT or ACT scores for consideration of merit-based awards. 

If you decide not to enroll, all you need to do, is call the Admissions Office or email to cancel your application. Your admission will automatically be cancelled and you will be removed from the university or college mailing list.

You can apply at any time of the year. Most programs accept new students at the start of the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Preparation and English Language programs for international students start in the fall, spring and summer semesters. You should apply as early as possible because the visa application process may delay your admission. We recommend that you apply at least 10 weeks before your chosen start date. If your application is too late for the start of the semester, you will be automatically considered for the next available start date.

You are encouraged to submit your application for admission before the start of the session, but it will now depends on the session you wish to apply for. Applications are still accepted after this date.

If you are applying through NGGA Ltd, it is not compulsory that First-year applicants needs to submit test scores to apply. You are required to submit an official copy of your high school transcript (sent directly from your high school).Official test scores are required of all students who wish to receive automatic consideration for merit-based scholarships. Students receive equal consideration for merit-based scholarships with either set of scores.

Transfer students will need to submit official copies of college transcripts sent directly to us from the college(s) attended. We will also need an official copy of your high school transcript (not required for students who earned an associate degree or higher at the time of application). SAT and/or ACT scores are not required for transfer students.

Test scores are not needed to apply for admission. International students will receive an admission decision based on the high school transcript. All students who wish to receive automatic consideration for merit-based scholarships must submit official test scores or an essay.

Additional application materials may be required for students applying for admission into any of their degree programs.

Admissions requirements vary by major. On average, incoming student Test scores are not needed for admission. You should have your decision within six weeks once your application is complete and you will be notified of the decision of your application.

NGGA Ltd uses the highest scores we have on file to process a student admissions. If you retake either of English Language Proficiency Test, be sure to have your new scores sent to our office.

Yes. An official final transcript is required to verify proof of graduation and to record your graduation date.

Additionally, your final transcript will be reviewed by our partner Admissions Committee to verify continued academic success during the period after that covered by the transcript used at the time of your admission. To be considered official, a transcript must be sent directly to the university or college by the institution issuing the transcript. Transcripts must be stamped “issued to student”.


SAT or ACT test scores are not required, but can be accepted for the English proficiency requirement.

You can choose from several tests, including the TOEFL, to show you meet the English proficiency requirement.

Applicants from certain countries of origin may be exempt from this requirement.

You will be considered for Scholarship Award, depending on your student type and you’re major. A scholarship notification will happen at the same time as an admissions decision. Please note International students are not eligible for need-based aid.

You are a first-year student if you are currently in secondary school, or have completed secondary school but not yet started post-secondary studies.
You are a transfer student if you have already started post-secondary studies.

No, you are still considered a transfer student for the purposes of admission, and should follow the transfer student requirements on the International Student website.

We need an official transcript, but you also send us a scanned copy of your transcript by email. The accepted methods for sending an official international transcript are: From an official at your school through an official school email account, or by postal mail or an online document sending service.
Make sure the transcript have original school stamp or are certified true copies of the original document.

Test score sending methods are detailed on the university English proficiency page.

A course evaluation is required for transfer students who studied outside of Nigeria. This is required for the admissions committee to see your grades, so your admissibility and scholarship eligibility can be appropriately assessed. Until the evaluation is received, your application file will remain incomplete.
Additionally, the evaluation will be used in the transfer credit process and level equivalents of each course taken, to properly transfer the courses in.

Yes, you can still be admitted if your medium of instruction is in English. No, if your primary language is not English, you must demonstrate your proficiency in the use of the English Language.

When your application has been submitted,we will email you approximately after you submit your application with information on updates. Application review typically takes 4-6 weeks from the date of file completion. You will be emailed when a decision is made.

Financial documents are required post-acceptance to process the forms required for student visa applications. If you have been granted admission, you will be able to upload these documents depending on the country of study destination.

If you have been a student at an accredited university in your home country, you can apply as a transfer student. You need to submit your transfer application along with certified (English) course descriptions (optional), documented hours of instruction, and an official transcript.


Transfer credit is granted for most courses completed with a grade of C or better. Most transfer credits usually satisfy most of our university partner’s requirements.

Almost all our university partners have scholarship programs,most of which are open to applications for international student. Transfer students are also offered merit scholarships, which are scholarship based on performance in areas like academic.


Some students start out a bit hesitant or unsure, especially if they’ve never been away from home before. But once they settle in, get into their coursework, and make friends from their residence hall and classes, distance from home becomes less of a concern.

Orientation week is a great way for student to meet new students and make friends. On top of that, there are student organizations on campus, new students can get involved with, as well as weekly campus events, activities that bring students from across campus together.

You can come to campus during student Orientation for visit. Students have a week for Spring Break, and in early May they’re home for the summer.

It is normal to be nervous about your big trip, but remember you won’t feel that way forever. Our university partners provides students with services to help them adjust to college or university life. You can adjust quickly on campus as an international student as quickly as possible, give yourself time to figure things out, realize it’s okay to feel homesick, call home regularly and also get involved in something that you find interesting.

Parents are encouraged to join NGGA Parents Facebook Group. It’s a parent-administered closed group to actively engage in various discussion topics, post questions for one another, and share stories about student experience on campus.

Most students find it easy to make friends and get involved. Many students choose to live in Communities within the residence halls as a way to connect with students who have shared interests.

Bachelor’s Degree Pathways For Intentional Students

If you study at one of our accredited university partners, your main focus of study within your degree is called your ‘major’. The subject you choose can lead to the first step in your career, so we recommend you consider it carefully.

Selecting a major is a decision based on your own academic skills, personal interests, and career goals. Think about the university courses, In addition, what are your career goals? 

Do not worry if you are unsure of which option to take; our professionals will prepare you with a variety of skills that can be applied to any of career path. Every university we partner with has expert counselors to help guide you through your decision.

Yes. You can decide to change your major; sometimes more than once. Our educational experts can tell you if you have enough time or if extending your stay at the university would be needed to complete your courses.

Some universities offer students the opportunity to have a ‘double’ or ‘dual’ major. This means you study two areas of focus, but still graduate with a single degree.

Supporting Documents

You will also need to submit all the required supporting documents, in English, before your application will be considered. The supporting documents listed below are most commonly required.

  • A completed application form
  • Recent bank statement (within 6 months), indicating adequate funds to support at least one full year of academic study as well as personal expenses OR Financial Guarantee.
  • Proof of English proficiency by TOEFL or IELTS score, or Password test ( contact us to arrange to take this free English test)
  • Passport identification page – scan or photocopy

If any documents are not in English, they must be accompanied by an English translation. The English translation should be certified by a translation agency

You will need to bring original documents with you when you register at your university.

English Language Level

Universities accept strong English language abilities from their students. They want to be sure that you can cope with the demands of degree-level study.

But there is no need to worry; many international students need some help to achieve the required level of English.

If you want to apply for direct entry to a degree, you need to show proof of your English language abilities.

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores are the most common language requirements for admissions.
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam scores are the most common language requirements for students applying to study abroad.
  • Most universities will accept either test of English, as proof of your English language ability. You can take TOEFL and IELTS exams at testing centers worldwide.

If you apply to one of our university or college partners through one of English Language programs, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s programs for international students, you do not need an official TOEFL or IELTS English score.

It is common for international students to meet all other requirements for university except English language. We will support you with intensive English language training to fit your needs. We offer a variety of program types depending on your English level.

English Language level for entry to university

Academic achievement is measured by GPA (Grade Point Average) scores. 

Master’s degree applicants may need GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) scores. If you apply through NGGA Ltd, you might not be required to provide either GMAT or GRE, but their course that comes with additional requirements. You do not need to take the ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) exams.
